Can you afford to ignore Linkedin? I think not; not if you are a business professional. First of all, it IS the new resume. You can showcase your work with video and slideshare, get recommendations that build trust within your industry, and present yourself as the "expert." Participate in discussions where you make new contacts and establish yourself as a positive player. There are over 52 million users on Linkedin and all the Fortune 500 companies are members. If you are not, you are at a great disadvantage! LinkedIn is the new prerequisite for most business decisions that involve a new individual. How does your LinkedIn Profile look? Would I hire you based on that profile? If not, you are severely handicapped.
