Our world has changed forever!...and it's never going back to the way it
was. Either you will get on board, or watch as the world runs past you! Very simple definitions...Web 1.0
was the beginning of the world wide web. Websites were constructed and we could view an entire company on our computers.
It was like a glorified newspaper. Web 2.0 is where an interaction developed between those sites and the viewer.
An interchange of information, dialogue and correspondence erupted online and hundreds of social media sites sprung up.
Web 3.0 is upon us and it is where there is an "organized" interchange of communication and information. Do you
remember the old movies where the gentleman walks in the room, and with one remote he turns on the TV, the cieling fan, changes
the temperature and opens the bar? This organized interchange of info is where we are able to do many activities on
the web...through one vehicle.
For successful businesses, social media is no longer an option. It's no different
than the telephone in its infancy. There is not a business today that does not use a telephone, yet, there was
great scepticism in the beginning. Do employees still make personal calls at work? Sure they do, but they do understand
that talking an hour with their boyfriend could get them in trouble. Personal phone time is separate from business phone
time. Social Media is no different. Employees must be educated with the understanding that when they are at work,
social media is a business tool to build a true collaborative infrastructure with the customer at the base. When
they are not at work, social media is for personal expression and interchange. Do you know how to educate
your employees?
In the world of Social Media, do you know how to go
from...
Blogging, Messaging,
Tagging, Bookmarking,
Forums, Profiles,
to....
Lead Generation, Lead
Warming, Lead Qualification, Brand Awareness, Engagement,
Customer Service, Customer Nurturing, Product
Development?????
The secret is in education
so that assumptions do not prevail!
